Different things work for different people. So it’s all about finding what works for YOU and then USING IT!
On a recent walk, Tristan and Sabrina share how they can find motivation on those days when it doesn’t seem to come easily.
And it’s not something that requires a lot of work or effort. It’s simply a different way of looking at things and using that simple shift in awareness to make something that’s a DISCIPLINE into something easier.
Simply being aware of the consequences of your choice, whether good or bad, can help you move into a place where your choice becomes more choiceless.
And being aware of whether you’re more strongly motivated by pleasure or pain, can be a HUGE tool in gaining and maintaining the drive and motivation that can help you attain your goal.
But whatever your choice, you need the undertone of love to have something that will really work for you in the long run.
How about you? Which aspect of the consequences of your action (or inaction) works the best when you need to find extra motivation? (Hint: There is not a RIGHT answer!)
Please feel free to share what works best for you, what ‘tricks’ you might have come up with in your own practice or any questions that this raises for you in the comment section below.

I love the thought about doing things in intervals when you lack motivation for the whole thing. I just applied that thought to a job around my house that needed to be done and that I had been avoiding like the proverbial plague. Every day I looked at it and thought, not today. So today I looked at it and though, maybe I’ll just do a little, just a start. I sectioned it off, and after each section I took a little break and thought, ok, just a little more. The end result being the job that I had been wasting far too much energy on avoiding is now done, and I feel so much better. Thank you for that wonderful insight!
Exactly, Janice! We let ourselves get overwhelmed but even a trip around the world can only go one step at a time. We take the step in front of us that gets us closer to our goal and that’s everything we can do in this moment. 🙂
