Prevent Age-Related Muscle Loss

In this episode, we share simple ways to prevent age-related muscle loss so you can maintain strength, vitality, and independence for years to come. We’ll teach you standing and sitting versions of various (easy-to-do) exercise.

Cool, right? What’s not so cool… without having a plan in place to prevent it… people lose about 3-8% of their muscle mass per decade after the age of 30.

And that only accelerates after the age of 50. Muscle strength declines at a rate of approximately 1.5% per year starting around the age of 50, with an even more rapid decline after the age of 60.

And if you want to make a little “cheat sheet” to remind you of the moves in this training, here are the names of the moves:

  • Weight Lifter Squat
  • Knee Raises
  • Leg Extensions
  • Point-Flex Ankles
  • Hamstring Curl
  • Ballet Squat
  • X Body Fly
